Failure always brings with itself fear, disappointment and anger, if not dealt-with in a proper way, these emotions may become very destructive. Failure can sometimes invoke emotions so dark, that people become self-destructive and even attempt suicide. Today we want to suggest you some ways of coping with failure so that you can start again and get the desired outcome, with your next task.
- Accept your failure
It is important to accept you have failed and start processing the causes of failure instead of being upset about the lost opportunity. Accept what opportunity you lost, accept you made a mistake and accept why you failed in your task.
- Take responsibility
Don’t blame others for your mistake, take responsibility of your failure in order to learn something from your experience of failure. Passing your blame on someone else seems pretty easy but it will not give you a chance of improvement, so take responsibility of your failure.
- Give your emotions a constructive outlet
Right after failure, everyone feels anger, disappointment and fear. It is completely understandable to have these feelings but you need get these emotions out through a constructive outlet. Discuss about your fear, eliminate your disappointment by taking small steps towards next task and use the fierceness of your anger to produce the energy to work again with more force.
- Learn from the failure
Every failure is an opportunity to learn. Find the causes of your failure, calculate how your effort was not enough and move on to your next opportunity. Use the knowledge and experience gained from your previous failures to improve and excel at the task in hand.
- Get motivated!
Everyone loses hope and feels demotivated after a failed attempt at something. Get a dose of motivation by reading something inspirational , by watching motivational talks or by getting to know about famous personalities who kept going even after failing again and again and understand their struggle when they finally got to the top.
- Improve your self-esteem
Lack of self-esteem can prove to be fatal. If you have skills and experience but don’t have confidence, your chance of getting opportunities of success narrow-down. Build your self-esteem, take self-help lessons and begin a healthy and positive lifestyle. Remember, if you will not believe in yourself, you will not be able to make anyone else believe in you or your capabilities.
- Begin again
After all these steps, it’s time to move on and try new things. Begin again with double efforts, stay optimistic and have faith. Start the new task with zero burden of previous failure but with all the experience from that failure, so as to not make the same mistakes again.
- Be patient
People usually lose patience and hope after failing a few times, it’s important to remember everything takes time, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. Have patience, you will succeed and everything will fall into place.

It is very important to be passionate about what you do and to love what you do, then only the chances of failing gets reduced. To love what you do, make all your work tasks fun, have short breaks in between work hours, think how you can make your task much more creative and productive, in each step of the task.
