Achieving life-goals is literally the most important goal in itself, for everyone. We all want something in life, be it materialistic like getting a good job, nice paygrade or just something soulful, like travelling the world, tasting cuisines from all over the world, getting to know people, spending more time with the family, the list goes on and on. Our point is, everyone wants something from this life, but not everyone has the clarity of how to achieve it or what the goal is. Today, we are writing about a few tips which can help you understand the true purpose of your mortal life and to guide you how to achieve the goals you have set for yourself.
- Know Yourself
The best way of knowing your purpose of life, or to understand what you want to achieve, is through getting to know yourself. Find out, what you truly desire, what you wish to do with this life, what do you want to give back to the society or what makes you happy.
Once you make-up your mind about what you want to achieve, it’s always good to prioritize about the steps you need to do for achieving your goal. Make a list of most important things to do and make sure to sort your priorities according to what other plans you have in life, you cannot just give up on everything else to get your goal, you will have to make sure you are not making a mess of anything/ for anyone in the process.
- Brainstorm but Don’t Procrastinate
Brainstorming is very important, it’s about planning and plotting the ideas you have. On the other hand, Procrastination is the worst thing one would want because frankly, you waste a lot of time in this process, instead of getting things done. It’s better to start doing something roughly, like an initial draft of a book a writer makes to at least get in the process, which he/she might not use later but it at least gives them clarity.
- Keep it Realistic
It’s very easy to get caught-up in a web of goals based on pure fantasy, but if you really want to achieve your goals, it’s important to make goals which are realistic. You might have heard about the ‘S.M.A.R.T. goal framework’, its stands for goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely. This is what you would want to incorporate while setting your goals.
- Schedule-Up Your Life
Making a schedule and planning beforehand is a necessary evil to get anything done. By scheduling, we don’t mean a monotonous routine of getting up early and having a fixed time to eat or study etc. we actually mean, making a proper scheme of how to work in order to achieve your goal within desired timeframe. Make proper plans, optimise your time by making a good use of every second, that’s what is required if you want your dream to come true.
- Know Your Enemy
It’s obviously, a good thing to view challenges as learning objects but at the very end, you will need a defensive approach too. Challenges are your enemies and you need a good strategy and complete knowledge of your enemy’s capabilities to win the war.
- Start Working
This is literally, the most important step, because you cannot get things done by just making strategies or brainstorming, you will have to step-up and work for it. Work hard, work smart and stay dedicated to your cause.
- Stay Motivated
Many people get demotivated when they face failure, but such failures are the stepping stones for your path to success. Stay motivated by talking to like-minded people, or by knowing about the struggles and journeys of great personalities, whom you admire. If you stay passionate to your cause and have faith, no one can stop you from achieving what you want.
- Take Guidance
It’s important to take guidance of the experts in order to know about your goal and the process a little better. Don’t shy away from asking questions, “curiosity will not kill the cat this time”. Get to know more and more about what you want and how you can get it. Take help from teachers, friends, family, internet or any other source. Just don’t stop learning.
- Recalibrate, if Needed
Sometimes, we don’t really get exactly what we plan but instead of getting hopeless, we need to have faith in the process and believe that everything happens for a reason. If God has taken something away from your hand it might be because, your hands need to be empty to receive something better. In cases like this, you will have to make some changes in your strategy and start working again with double-enthusiasm. Don’t be afraid to make changes in your plans or in the goals you have set. Remember, change is the law of nature, sometimes it’s okay to go with the flow.
